One of the oldest plugins out there, Akismet helps keep spam comments to a minimum. Use it! It comes preinstalled on every WordPress. All you have to do is activate it. You’ll be glad you did.
Smush Image Compression
We use this to optimize all of the images that we add to our websites. This plugin reduces the size of your images without sacrificing quality. Paid upgrades are available for this service.
NextGen Gallery
Want beautiful image galleries with the latest layouts, including the ability to customize the size, padding, and other features? NextGen Gallery is our go-to gallery plugin. The free version has a lot of great gallery options, but we like to use the Pro version.
Other plugins we recommend are Wordfence for security. Comet Cache is an advanced WordPress caching plugin inspired by simplicity. MonsterInsights is the best Google Analytics plugin for WordPress. You can see how visitors find and use your website, so you can keep them coming back.
