What interests you most about your new internship?

Learning how to put all the stuff we are taught in class into real world practice. We learn all kinds of things in class and how huge companies have been successful so it’s nice to be able to put what is taught in classes to work. The best learning is through hands-on experience and I am thankful for the opportunity to do that.

What’s the skill do you think you will enjoy using most in your job and why?

I like knowing that by using what I know about social media that we are helping people grow their businesses, which is in return growing business for The Belford Group. On a larger scale, it’s also helping our economy and country to get better.
If you could create a children’s book, what would it be about and what role would you play in creating it?

I guess I would write something about kittens because they’re so cute, but that’s not really original so maybe throw an iguana in there to mix it up so kids learn about all kinds of pets and animals. My role as a social media person would be to make it interactive. Maybe have a few social media pages where children and their parents can interact with the characters and teach parents and children a little more about social media.
If you could accomplish a dream hobby, what would it be and why?
Well, I’m obsessed with Pinterest and interior design stuff so I would love to get a house and make it just the way I want it before I move in it. Kind of like a reward/project for being a grown up.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received and how did you apply it to your life?

I watched the Lion King almost on a daily basis as a child and as I got older I realized how much the phrase “Hakuna Matata” meant to me. It is Swahili for “no worries” and can be applied to a lot of things in life. If something doesn’t go the way you want it is not the end of the world and you will be much happier if you do not dwell on your failures but just move forward with life. There is a lot of stress and pressure to succeed but I think it is most important in live to be happy and worry as little as possible.
If you could write your own personal tagline, what would it be?
“Just do it.” It may be Nike’s tagline but I apply it to my life a lot of times. I sometimes get nervous when I am put in situations where I do not have a lot of experience but by “just doing” it, I face fears, break barriers and learn more about myself.
